Characterization of cell-based products is needed for the optimization of cell-based therapies in clinical settings. Our lab has undertaken a variety of efforts in evaluating metabolism of iPSC-derived cells during differentiation into phenotypes that would be used for personalized in vitro screening platforms and applications in regenerative medicine. We focus on how spatial features that arise in cells and colonies correlate with early metabolic predictors of multicellular organization, with the goal of modulating and accelerating cell fates decisions based upon this knowledge.
In related work, we are applying our computational tools toward the prediction of CAR T cell potency from predictions of metabolic pathway enrichment that can be related to clinical outcomes.
