Eunbi was awarded Honorable Mention for the Petit Institute annual Suddath Award for graduate students at Georgia Tech who have demonstrated significant bio-research accomplishments while conducting biological or biochemical research at the molecular or cellular level. This award comes with a $200 cash prize. Way to go!
PURA travel award!
Congrats to Siya Kannan for her poster abstract acceptance to BMES as well as a GT Presidential Undergraduate Research Travel Award to offset to costs of attendance. Siya will be representing our group in Seattle at the October meeting where she will be presenting some of the agent-based simulation work underway in the NSF Cell Manufacturing Technologies Center.
Josh Lewis wins 2nd place prize in Suddath Student Award!
Congratulations to Josh for placing as runner-up in the 2019 Suddath Student Award competition hosted each year by the Petit Institute. This is the most prestigious internal award at Georgia Tech across all bioengineering and biosciences PhD students. Josh receives a $500 cash prize!

Congratulations to Dan Zhang for winning this year’s best abstract award among the Bioengineering Ph.D. students! Dan will receive a $150 cash prize and give an oral presentation during the BioE day on May 9.

Joshua Lewis received a Young Investigator travel award to attend the Society for Redox Biology & Medicine annual meeting. In addition, his abstract “Genome-scale modeling of NADPH metabolism in radiation-resistant head and neck squamous cell carcinoma patients” was selected for an oral presentation. Way to go, Josh!
